My Dream Job - 11.23.2016

It has taken me 9 months to write this blog post for multiple reason, but mainly because I didn't want to jinx anything.  I have found my dream job and I plan to run away with it.  If you think obtaining your dream job is impossible, think again.

I've been living here in Southern California for just over ten years.   It's been amazing and I can't imagine living elsewhere. With that said, I have had some of the most emotional ups and downs to deal with due to the freelance world I chose to work in.

The Highs: I've worked on some classic comedy feature films like Knocked Up and Blades of Glory.  When people ask what celebrities I've met, it's easier to tell them which ones I haven't met. The potential of photography subjects and opportunities is unlimited.

The Lows: Going months with no work. Working on shit productions like reality TV.  Being treated like you are not a human by picky producers who have no respect for anyone other than themselves. Having to find alternate ways to make a living just to eat mac n cheese.

Another one of those lows for me is photographing weddings. To put it short, it's just not for me. However, I would not be where I am today if I did not shoot one wedding in particular.  Thank you Kelli and BC!

Now, I have been working at my dream job since February and I am immensely proud of it. I am the Still Photography Producer for Red Bull TV and I LOVE it. The possibilities are literally endless. The projects I get to work on are top notch. I get to travel, shoot, and have the steady daily routine freelancing could never offer. It's a great balance of freedom and routine and I get to do what I love everyday.

From shooting to producing to editing, I touch it all. I even get to pay it forward like so many others did for me and hire super talented photographers all over the world.

I can't wait to see where this job takes me and what things I learn and experience. I feel very empowered and inspired to work my ass off and create the best content I possibly can while helping this company and Red Bull TV grow and take over the world.

More to come soon...
